Everyone asks me “why?” when I tell them that I hate rain… I’m called different things (all negative) when I say that but still, I really don’t appreciate this weather… So I thought I should answer all the “why’s” (-: (another reason is, World Call is down and I cant be online)
Its said that there’s a child inside of every adult just wondering what the hell happened… So I suppose same is the case with me as well… The child inside me loves rain like everyone else, he gets excited, all giggles, he wants to dance in the water… But then there’s an adult too inside of me and he thinks, he can see… So when he sees the other side of picture the dislike of rain gets bigger than the like of rain.
When that adult sees, he sees the world outside of his home… he sees that there’s a totally different world in the same city, while he can enjoy some coffee sitting beside window looking outside at the water making the lawn look more beautiful, there are people in other parts of the city who at the same time are trying to survive through this rain… for them this rain is just another misery… home is where we all feel the safest, whatever the worries, dangers and hazards the world has to offer… we are safe from all those when in our home… For them rain is an “occasion” when they’re busy getting the water out of their homes.
When for me the problems of rain are like, world call is down today or water went in the fuel tank of generator so I’ve to sit in dark with no electricity… For them the problems of rain are like, taking a kid to hospital who got electric shock or finding a new roof for the house because the old was blown away by the wind before rain…
So when I look at “that” side of the rain, I don’t like rain and the fact that I cannot do anything depresses me )-:
Now someone might ask what did I do? I’d say I used to help people from 2002 till 2004… (-: we used to have a Nissan Patrol back then so me with a friend used to take that out in the rain to help people broken down cars... Sounds pretty “Mother Theresaish”? he he… well… let me give all the readers a tip, if I say something as simple as 2+2=4 then there must be something…
I would say, “accident” got me & my friend into helping others, one rainy day back in 2002, we both were coming from the Mai Kolachi Bypass when we saw this girl standing next to the road with her Baleno all in water… Wanting to be “hero” we both decided to become “superman”. After tying her car with the tow wire, my friend asked her if she knows how to handle when being towed, she said no… Having no clue about it myself (which I learned only last week that how a car is handled when being towed)… My friend decided to sit in her car while she sat with me… By the time we reached her house in Phase V... I had her phone number ;-) realizing this as an “Easy Sport” my friend urged me to get into this “profession”… and like I always say... negativity spreads faster than the speed of light… I was a part of this within no time… (yea I know it was pretty lame & looserish)
Since then we both used to board the Patrol whenever there use to rain trying to look for “Girls in pain”… But when we actually got into that we realized that either girls drive good cars which don’t breakdown OR they don’t get out in rain… thus we ended up providing a service with almost no “market” (sounds like any business, eh?)
Then once there was an uncle with a good looking daughter whom we decided to “help” as the saying goes, “50% of something is better than 100% of nothing”… so one thing lead to another and then we were like, “since we’re out in the rain with no girls needing our help, lets just help the guys too for the sake of it” oh just for the records, we both have been “100% straight” throughout our “careers” so the helping guys thing was some genuine help…
So we helped people in rain from 2002 till 2004 & enjoyed doing so… Then in 2004, my friend got a job and got a new girlfriend there so after that he liked spending time with her whenever it use to rain… so that gives me 1 more reason to hate rain because I don’t get to continue my “sport” anymore…
Puri Sahib… the Hate for Rain continues

Interesting. Why don't you write for newspapers. Just keep them emailing and it might be published.
